Waterproof and breathable, the Porelle® membrane that DexShell uses has a Water Vapor Permeability (WVP) index of 15,000 g/m2.day ASTM E96:95. The membrane is also resistant to a range of chemicals and weak acids and passed the viral penetration test ISO 16604 made by Nelson Labs. Warm, breathable, moisture-repellent, and anti-static, Merino has the capacity to deal with moisture like no other yarn, absorbing perspiration and releasing it into the air as vapor. It is naturally odor-resistant, too. Luxuriously soft and gentle against the skin, it reacts to your body’s temperature, keeping you warm when it’s cold and releasing body heat and moisture when it’s hot. The natural elasticity and resilience of Merino wool enable it to spring back into shape with ease. DexShell only purchases and uses merino wool that is guaranteed to be mulesing-free.
COOLMAX® is a performance yarn that includes an effective fiber-based moisture management system. The system can move perspiration away from the body, through the fabric, and transfer it out of the wear. It can evaporate quickly, allowing the wearer to feel cooler and much more comfortable. Dexdri™️ is a type of lightweight water-repellent yarn engineered by DexShell for its range of waterproof socks. The yarn is made of super-fine denier polypropylene fiber, which inherits properties of mildew resistance and heat retention. Featuring softness and durability, socks knitted with Dexdri yarn are much drier than other outdoor socks made of regular artificial fibers, thus significantly reducing the chance of blistering.
